Ibiza

Ibiza's cruise traffic is centred on the deep-water Botafoc passenger and commercial area, where the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands manages multiple large-vessel berths and a modern maritime station close to Ibiza Town.

Dock

Ibiza (Eivissa) is one of the principal passenger ports of Spain's Balearic Islands. The port is managed by the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB), with modern cruise and scheduled passenger operations concentrated in the Botafoc area on the eastern side of the harbour.

Botafoc cruise area

APB's current port plan identifies Botafoc Berths 1, 2, 3 and 4, together with Ribera del Botafoc Quay and Botafoc Breakwater Quay. APB states that development of the commercial platform and new docks allows up to five large vessels to berth simultaneously.

Botafoc Breakwater

Historic APB technical characteristics publish the Botafoc Breakwater Quay at approximately 392.65m with 20m water depth. Later APB infrastructure documentation describes the breakwater structure itself as approximately 515m long, again with maximum water depth around 20m.

Those figures describe infrastructure, not unconditional ship limits. Deck7 therefore records the physical quay/depth data but leaves maximum vessel LOA and permitted ship draught unknown unless APB publishes a clean current operational limit.

Berth allocation

Ibiza is particularly useful for the Deck7 technical index because APB publishes a formal cruise-berth planning process. Cruise applications must provide the vessel's IMO number, length, beam, draught, passenger capacity and operational timings. The port then assesses berth allocation for the individual call.

Passenger facilities

The modern Botafoc commercial platform includes passenger-handling facilities and a maritime station. Cruise passengers can travel from Botafoc into Ibiza Town by transfer, taxi, coach or local transport.

Marine services

Pilotage and tug services operate within the APB port system, while fresh water and ship-waste services can be arranged. No sufficiently clear current authoritative confirmation of routine high-voltage cruise shore power or dedicated LNG cruise bunkering at the Botafoc cruise berths was identified, so Deck7 records both as unknown.

Ibiza Town

The port provides access to Ibiza Town and the UNESCO-listed Dalt Vila, as well as beaches, villages and attractions throughout the island. Ibiza Airport is only a short road transfer from the harbour.

Terminal information

The Port of Ibiza (Eivissa) is managed by the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB). Large cruise and scheduled passenger vessels are concentrated in the Botafoc area, where the modern commercial platform and maritime station serve passenger traffic. APB's current 2025 port plan identifies Botafoc North Jetty Berths 1 and 2, Botafoc South Jetty Berths 3 and 4, Ribera del Botafoc Quay and Botafoc Breakwater Quay.

Docking and tender information

The Botafoc area is the principal deep-water cruise zone. APB states that the commercial platform and new quays allow up to five large vessels to berth simultaneously. Historic APB technical tables publish the Botafoc Breakwater Quay at approximately 392.65m with 20m water depth, while later infrastructure documentation describes the breakwater itself as 515m long with a maximum water depth of 20m. Current berth allocation for cruise ships is controlled by APB and is vessel-specific.

Getting around

Cruise passengers use taxis, shuttle/transfer services, coaches and local transport between Botafoc and Ibiza Town. Ibiza Airport is approximately 8-10km from the port. Dalt Vila, Ibiza Town, beaches and island excursions are readily accessible from the harbour.

Accessibility

The Botafoc passenger facilities are modern passenger-handling infrastructure. Exact gangway, shuttle and mobility arrangements depend on berth and cruise line; passengers requiring assistance should arrange it through their cruise operator.
