Disney Magic is the original ship of Disney Cruise Line and the first vessel built specifically for Disney's cruise operation. Delivered by Fincantieri in 1998, she entered passenger service on 30 July 1998 and is the sister ship of Disney Wonder.

Fincantieri publishes a gross tonnage of 83,400 GT, overall length of 294 metres, moulded beam of 32.25 metres, design draught of 7.7 metres and maximum speed of 24.7 knots. The builder records 880 passenger cabins, including two penthouse suites, 108 suites, 246 balcony cabins, 278 window cabins and 246 inside cabins.

Fincantieri gives a maximum of 4,914 persons aboard, a combined figure that includes passengers and crew rather than passenger capacity alone. Widely established ship particulars record accommodation for approximately 2,834 passengers and around 945 crew; Deck7 keeps those figures separate rather than treating the builder's persons-aboard total as passenger capacity.

Machinery

Disney Magic uses conventional diesel-electric machinery and is not LNG-powered. Fincantieri lists five Sulzer 16 ZAV 40S engines, each rated at 11,520kW. Her classic ocean-liner-inspired profile, twin red funnels and dark hull established the visual identity subsequently used across the Disney Cruise Line fleet.

Environmental systems

Disney Magic predates the LNG and modern shore-power generation of Disney Cruise Line ships. Deck7 has not established sufficiently clear current primary-source evidence confirming a commissioned high-voltage shore-power installation or a ship-specific exhaust-gas cleaning system configuration aboard Disney Magic. Those fields are therefore recorded as Not confirmed rather than inferred from wider fleet initiatives.

On board

Disney Magic combines family-focused entertainment with dedicated children's, teen and adults-only spaces. Disney's current deck-plan material continues to list the ship's staterooms, dining venues, entertainment, clubs, pools and spa facilities, while also noting that some room categories may change as enhancements are introduced.

Identification

Disney Magic's permanent IMO number is 9126807. Current AIS records identify MMSI 308516000, call sign C6PT7 and the Bahamas flag, with Nassau as the ship's registry.
